CBCRP is getting a new look—beginning with our logo. The new logo symbolizes our founding principle that by linking groups, perspectives, and experience, we can find fresh approaches for researching breast cancer. Watch for more changes on our Web site.
CBCRP is Still Listening
Our “CBCRP_Listens” Web page is open for business, and we are beginning to hear from you! Thank you to those who have sent in thoughtful comments on everything from the need to fund more research on the role of breast feeding in breast cancer to suggestions for how we can better serve the research community through re-evaluating the structure of our funding cycle. We would like to hear more. If you don’t have access to the Web, we’d still like to hear from you. Call us at (888) 313-BCRP (2277) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
New Application Deadlines
We have released our Call for Cycle IX Applications (funding beginning in 2003). We expect to have approximately $14 million available for funding. You can view the new call on our Web site or request a printed copy by calling (888) 313-BCRP (2277) or emailing email@example.com.

Smoking and Breast Cancer Workshop
Is there a relationship between smoking and breast cancer? How does secondhand smoke affect breast cancer incidence? CBCRP, the Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program (TRDRP), and the American Cancer Society are co-sponsoring a workshop on Smoking and Breast Cancer to examine these issues. The workshop will be held at the Fairmont San Jose on Wednesday, December 4, 2002, from 9 am to noon. The workshop is free, but register to save your place. To learn more about the workshop and to register for it, go to the TRDRP Web site: http://www.trdrp.org/.
